Can the American economy survive without imports from China???

Can the American economy survive without imports from China??? In my view China has always had unfair import and export practices. With the recall of the "poison" toys I see a large opening for goods that are "made in America" to gain major traction. What about other goods? Can Americans survive with products made here? Let me know your thoughts?
