| A native New Yorker, Christopher earned his Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from UCLA. A member of the Writers Guild of America, west (WGA), former Writer’s Assistant to Dan Gordon (CELESTINE PROPHECY, THE HURRICANE, MURDER IN THE FIRST, PASSENGER 57, WYATT EARP), a former Freelance Story Analyst for Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and the former Vice-President of the Organization of Black Screenwriters (OBS). Most recently, Christopher wrote and directed the feature film THE 23RD PSALM, which won Best Picture, Best Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actress at the San Diego Black Film Festival. In addition THE 23RD PSALM has screened in Cannes, Berlin, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Memphis. Odom’s screenplays have garnered accolades from competitions and fellowships including The San Francisco Black Film Festival, The Scriptapalooza TV Writing Competition and The Agency for the Performing Arts (APA) Marty Klein Comedy Writing Award. Christopher’s documentary, HOW TO MAKE IT IN HOLLYWOOD BEFORE YOU MAKE IT, screened at The Hollywood Black Film Festival, The Roxbury International Black Film Festival and was picked up for distribution by Tapeworm Video Distributors. Christopher also received recognition for his work as a filmmaker from Film Independent’s Diversity Committee at The Los Angeles Film Festival. |
